The reason why it flooded is because you probably have a bit of dirt on the float needle valve, the float height was improperly set, or there is a hole in the float and it no longer floats properly. It was constantly leaking (similar to a toilet tank with a leaking float valve). I'd check your crankcase, you may have fuel in your oil, if the oil level is abnormally high. In that case, you will have to change your oil.
